| 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. butter or margarine 1 cup oil 1 c. powdered sugar 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 4 c. unbleached flour 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt extra granulated sugar to roll cookies in |
| Cream shortening, butter, oil, powdered sugar and 1 cup of sugar. Beat eggs and vanilla. Add to shortening mixture. In a separate bowl sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to shortening mixture. Mix well and chill. Chilling makes it easier to roll the dough. Roll teaspoon of dough into balls. Roll in sugar. Place on cookie pan and press with a fork or spoon. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes. Makes about 80 cookies. |
