Jamie says this is her grandfather's favorite recipe. Their family is from the Austin area, and her
grandfather worked for a nearby brewery. And for some wonderful reason they always had beer
in the refrigerator. You could run out of bread, milk or eggs, but not beer. One day, grandma
was fixing supper and she wanted to make biscuits for the meal. There was no milk, but there
was beer! Well, that's how beer biscuits came about in their family! They are grandpa's favorite
biscuit. Necessity is the mother of invention!
Thank you for visiting our site! Hope you enjoy the beer biscuits as well!
Beer Biscuit Story
2 cups unbleached flour
3 tsp. baking powder

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in the
shortening. Slowly, add the beer. Knead just
a bit. Too much, will make them tough. Dust
